Seamus is multi-chartered as a Civil Engineer, Geologist and Environmentalist and is a UK Registered Ground Engineering Adviser under the RoGEP scheme. He has worked in the brownfield sector for over 40 years. He was a founding committee member of The Society of Brownfield Risk Assessment (SoBRA) and is a past Chairman of both the AGS and the Land Forum.
He remains chair of the Land Forum’s Professional Standards Committee leading the initiative to deliver the National Quality Mark Scheme for land affected by contamination. He has sat on numerous CIRIA and BSI steering groups and is currently the chairman of the CL:AIRE Technology & Research Group.
Seamus works as a consultant to both local authorities and developers through his firm LBHGEO and endeavours to bring an experienced and practical eye to the solution of all manner of ground-related problems.
In 2012 he was named by DEFRA for assisting with the Part 2A statutory revisions and is one of the twelve experts appointed to the government’s National Expert Panel for Land Contamination. In 2018 he was honoured to have been selected to tender as independent supervisor of the EA led environmental investigations associated with the Grenfell Fire.

John is a Chartered Surveyor and CL:AIRE Qualified Person with over 30 years’ experience in the
He became group managing director of McAuliffe Group in 2003, having previously held executive
roles within multiple global contracting and consultancy firms.
As managing director, John has grown the family business into one of the UK’s leading remediation
contractors. He retains an active role in the management of strategic client relationships, leading the
pre-construction team on McAuliffe’s complex design and build remediation schemes.
He is experienced in contaminated land appraisal and commercial risk, and regularly supports clients
at land purchase stage, as well as with subsequent regulatory and planning compliance approvals.
